Good Life Lactation is a RN and IBCLC owned lactation consulting practice serving families in the Kansas City metro area. We provide in-home and virtual breastfeeding, pumping, and bottle feeding support. We also have two clinic locations in Overland Park, KS and Kansas City, MO. We offer free prenatal lactation classes and breastfeeding support groups to the community.

Our Approach

We help with a wide range of lactation concerns including latch pain/difficulties, low supply, weight gain concerns, mastitis, pumping difficulties, bottle refusal, and weaning.

Every infant feeding journey is unique and we will address your concerns with compassion and expertise. We will work with you to create a sustainable feeding plan and prioritize your goals. We would be honored to come alongside your family in your feeding journey.

Prenatal Consultation (in-home, clinic or virtual)

This is an opportunity to establish care prior to delivering, which makes it that much easier once your baby is here. Please reach out to schedule your prenatal between 30-34 weeks.

We highly recommend a prenatal consult if you have never breastfed before or if you have had any difficulties breastfeeding in the past.

During this 60 minute appointment we will go over your health history, provide individualized breastfeeding education, go over your pump or make recommendations for a pump. As an established client, you will then have us on speed dial once your baby is here!

Initial Lactation Consultation (in-person)

During our initial 60 minute evaluation, we will do a thorough intake of your health history and delivery. With your permission, we will do an oral assessment on your baby to check their anatomy and function.

We have an infant scale that we can use to check on overall growth as well as do a weighted feed. If you are latching your baby at the breast/chest we will ideally do a feeding during this visit. For a weighted feed we will weigh your baby before and after feed and this will let us know approximately how much breastmilk your baby drank during that feeding.

Additionally, we will address your concerns and come up with a recommended feeding plan. Any needed follow up appointments will be 30-60 minutes.

Initial Lactation Consultation (virtual)

Whether you are outside of our travel range in the Kansas City metro or virtual is your preference this is a great option. We use a secure platform and will provide you with a link prior to your appointment.

During our initial 60 minute evaluation, we will do a thorough intake of your health history and delivery. If you are latching your baby at the breast/chest we will ideally do a feeding during this visit.

Additionally, we will address your concerns, answer questions and come up with a recommended feeding plan. Any needed follow up appointments will be 30-60 minutes.

Join us for an informal gathering designed for real-time infant feeding support. Led by certified lactation consultants, these sessions offer support with breastfeeding, pumping, and bottle feeding — no matter where you are in your feeding journey.
